It’s ironic, humans complain about not having enough time, yet our choices tell a different story: we act as if we have more time than we do. Procrastination, distractions, avoiding what we know matters, all of it, from the outside looking in, sends a message that you believe your time is unlimited when it is not.

This is not a conversation about being more productive. If you’re new to me, “productive” isn’t something I aspire to be any day of my life. Intentional, yes. And from that intention, on some occasions things are produced, things are completed, progress is made.

This conversation between you and me is one about being honest about time. Time gets a really bad reputation. While I’m known professionally as a “time management coach,” once I am let in the door, I make it clear that it’s not time that needs the management, it’s the human who must learn to steward the resource of time well.

And, regardless of your age or stage of life there are some basic truths that we have to deal with when it comes to time.
