June equals summer in my book, although Alexa says that summer doesn’t officially begin until June 20th. Now that we’re in summer, the littles are in camp, and I have more child-free time during the day, I have two projects that I must bring to completion.
Project #1: Photos.
I have three iPhones filled with pictures that I plan to (1) transfer to dropbox (2) save to a hard drive and (3) print and put in an old fashion scrap book.
We love having photos out for our annual Friendsgiving so that everyone can see our time together from that year. My plan is to order four to five of these scrapbooks and start with the most recent photos and then go backward.
But, the first step is getting the photos out of my phone AND develop a plan to never get back to having thousands of photos in my phone which slows my phone down and requires me to spend money on iCloud.
Which brings me to my latest purchase, a camera! You remember, those devices that were originally created for taking pictures before iPhone gave us convenience. I want to get back to using a camera for photos and for the few times I do use my phone, transfer the photos within 24 hours—hard rule.
I’ll keep you updated on how it goes, but first, to transfer the photos. If you’ve done this and have tips I welcome them. I don’t want to purchase any software or anything else to do this, I’m using dropbox because I already pay for the extra storage and then I’ll put them all on a hard drive (or thumb drive, if those are still a thing) so that we have somewhere external for our photos.
To keep things simple I do not plan to categorize by months but by year. That’s project number one. I start next week because first up is my eBay project.
Project #2: update my eBay.
I have an entire store’s worth of clothing, bags, and shoes ready to add to my eBay storefront. I want to get them all photographed and listed this month so that these fantastic items can find new homes!
It’s tedious but I think it will be worth it. My closets have been pruned and there is stuff that no longer fits (some with tags), no longer my style (more on that coming soon), or it didn’t make the cut when I had an honest conversation with myself about what I tend to wear most.
If I can get to June 30th with these two BIG projects marked complete I will count it a full WIN! I’m taking July off and I do not want to take these projects with me into July. I’ll report back July 1st!
What are you working on this month or this summer around your home or to get organized in general? I want to hear all about it!
